Customer: Uppsala Parking och Mobilitet AB (UPAB) Location: Uppsala, Sweden System: 100 kWh Rebaba CircularBESS Status: Live The challenge As EV adoption accelerates, UPAB is seeing rapidly increasing peak power demand across its parking facilities. Expanding grid capacity is both slow and expensive, making it an impractical solution, while grid power costs reach over €10 / kW in some areas of the country. UPAB needed a system that could handle multiple use cases at once. Reduce peak demand, store solar energy for later use, and give their team full control over operation. Control was critical. Lessons learned from a previous BESS installation highlighted the importance of control, visibility, and the ability to configure the BESS system for their specific property. In this project, the requirement was full transparency in both technology and data, as well as a responsive partner during and after the project. The goal was to retain the potential to both manage and further develop the system as new needs emerged. Why they picked Rebaba UPAB evaluated several suppliers. Rebaba stood out with its use of second life EV batteries, offering a greener alternative to new cells while extending the lifetime of existing resources. In total, Rebaba's second life system could save 10 tonnes of CO2eqs compared to a system of virgin batteries. But the decision was not only about the product. Rebaba offered an open integration protocol, a fire safe system design, and clear communication abou
